Whitney Houston - My Love Is Your Love
I remember in high school actually going to the local record shop and purchasing this single the day of it’s release. One of the few female singer that I felt I could listen to and no have to worry about looking soft, or getting teased about.
Another thing I enjoyed about her music, was it was really a positive projection of women. It wasn’t overly sexual, nor damsel in distress, I always felt that the music she sang was classe. The personal issues in her life, didn’t detour this image one bit as well. In my mind I would rather be around a girl like Whitney than a Gaga(no shots at her either).
Confidence was projected in her music, and though some might say she was gone to soon, I am always one of the ones who will differentiate with the that opinion with whose to say? Death comes, when we never know, and life is filled with beauty, but hardships as well.
At the end of the day though I thought Mrs Houston made some great contributions to the world of music, and a positive image of women in general in my mind.
